The material regulator valve is an air-operatedsliding valve. It has a tapered needle and speciallydesigned fluid ports that permit precise regulationand rapid response to air command signals. Thesecharacteristics are maintained over the fulloperating range of the regulator valve.
Control of the MVR is achieved through an airpressure control signal generated from thetransducer panel. Air pressure against a solventresistant diaphragm moves the needle up anddown across the fluid ports. The tapered seat onthe needle, combined with the fluid portconfiguration, allows fluid flow through the MVR todirectly reflect the air pressure control signal. Anincrease in air pressure results in an increase influid flow through the regulator.The flow rate of the material depends on theposition of the shaft taper within the valve body
