The EMAX Hydro SMART AIR® EVW10V080V3-460 is a 10 HP two-stage piston air compressor that delivers 38 CFM with a maximum pressure of 175 PSI. It pairs an 80-gallon vertical tank with a 3-phase, 460V TEFC motor, a water-cooled pressure-lubricated pump, Silent Air™ noise suppression, and WiFi PLC controls. Rated for 100% duty cycle, it suits shops and facilities that need continuous, quieter compressed air from a 460V three-phase supply.

Silent Air™ Noise Suppression

• Up to 50% Quieter: The patented Silent Air™ silencer system achieves up to 50% quieter operation, with noise levels at or below conversational volume. Each 10 dBA drop equals a 50% reduction to the human ear.

Pressure Lubricated 2-Stage Pump

• Gear-Driven Oil Pump: A gear oil pump mounted to the rear of the crankshaft generates positive oil pressure. It delivers a continuous flow of oil to each bearing point, which reduces friction and wear, keeps bearings cool, and extends pump life.

• Rifle-Drilled Oil Passages: The crankshaft and connecting rods are rifle-drilled to send oil directly to bearings, piston pins, and other high-friction wear points.

• Spin-On Oil Filter: An automotive-style spin-on oil filter keeps oil clean and simplifies maintenance during oil changes. Oil capacity is 2 quarts.

• Oil Pressure Gauge: An analog pressure gauge lets operators monitor oil pressure accurately.

• Built for Continuous Duty: Unlike splash-lubricated systems, pressure lubrication puts oil precisely where it is needed, reducing friction, wear, and heat in high-stress, continuous-duty environments.

• Water-Cooled Pump: The water-cooled APP4V1043WC pump runs at 730 RPM and has an estimated pump life of 80,000 hours.

Cast Iron Construction & Rebuildable Components

• Cast Iron Major Components: The crankcase, cylinder heads, cylinders, connecting rods, crankshaft, and high-pressure piston are all cast iron, which offers more durability and rigidity than aluminum.

• Cast Iron High-Pressure Pistons: These pistons withstand heavy loads and help prevent cylinder scoring and pump failure. Low-pressure pistons are aluminum for balance and efficiency, since they operate under low stress (about 45 PSI).

• CNC-Machined Connecting Rods: Solid cast iron rods provide maximum rigidity and strength, including at the crankshaft end, where aluminum rods commonly fail.

• Fully Rebuildable: Replaceable bearing inserts and wrist pins allow full rebuilds of the connecting rod assembly instead of throw-away replacement.

• Four-Ring Piston Design: Two oil control rings remove excess oil on the downstroke, and two overlapping compression rings seal under compression to prevent blow-by. This reduces oil carryover and extends ring life.

• Non-Oil-Absorbent Gaskets: High-quality gaskets minimize oil leakage and reduce maintenance requirements.

Drive System & Motor

• Heavy-Duty Cast Iron Flywheel: The 20" flywheel's increased mass generates greater kinetic energy, which reduces amp draw and lowers energy consumption. It has 9 large cooling fins for improved pump cooling.

• Dual B-Groove Belts: Two B-style belts provide a larger contact surface to extend belt life. A belt tensioner and pump riser are included.

• TEFC Motor: The 10 HP totally enclosed fan-cooled motor runs at 1740 RPM with variable start.

• Electrical Requirements: The unit requires a 460V (+/- 10%) three-phase supply. FLA (with 1.15 service factor) is 14.1 amps, locked rotor and peak starting amps are 85.4, and the recommended breaker is 25 amps.

Tank, Controls & Installation

• 80-Gallon Vertical Tank: The tank is ASME and CRN certified and has a 3/4" outlet.

• Automatic Tank Drain: Condensate drains automatically, so no manual draining is required.

• SMART AIR® WiFi PLC Controls: The compressor is equipped with WiFi-enabled PLC controls.

• Footprint: Uncrated dimensions are 39" L x 25" W x 75" H. Crated dimensions are 48" L x 46" W x 87" H.
