Justrite Hydrocarbon Detection Strips model 26486, also known as oil test strips, offer a swift and reliable method for identifying the presence of hydrocarbons such as gasoline, fuel oil, and lubricating oil in both water and soil environments. Ideal for industrial and environmental applications, these strips help monitor oil contamination in areas such as elevator shafts, utility vaults, secondary containment areas, retention ponds, and oil-water separators. By detecting hydrocarbons before water discharge or processing, they ensure regulatory compliance and help prevent environmental damage.
Upon contact with hydrocarbons, the initially light blue oil test strips will turn darker shades of blue. The extent and intensity of this coloration serve as indicators of contamination levels. If hydrocarbons are absent, the strips maintain their original shade of blue and will not absorb water. Each strip measures 2.75" x 0.75", and they are conveniently packaged in containers of 100, making them a practical solution for routine monitoring and spill response.
