Which compressed air piping system should I choose — FastPipe, MaxLine, ComPRESSed or Duratec?
FastPipe is rigid aluminum pipe with push-fit fittings that install without threading or gluing. MaxLine is flexible aluminum-core tubing on a roll that bends around obstacles with fewer fittings. ComPRESSed uses press-fit fittings on rigid stainless or aluminum pipe for permanent industrial installs from 3/4 to 4 inch. Duratec is semi-flexible rolled tubing used in food, beverage and pharmaceutical plants. The systems are not interchangeable, so pick one and buy fittings for that system.

What pipe size do I need for my compressed air system?
Base it on compressor output and how far the air has to travel. Home garages usually run 1/2 or 3/4 inch, shops with several users run 1 inch, and production plants with large compressors and long loops use 1-1/2 inch and up (FastPipe Industrial goes to 8 inch). Undersized pipe causes pressure drop at the far outlets, so when in doubt go one size up.

Can I mix fittings from different piping systems?
No. Each system has its own pipe outside diameter and fitting design. Use the Piping System filter to see only the fittings for the system you have, then the Pipe Size filter for your line size. Threaded NPT adapters are the bridge between a piping system and your compressor, drops and tools.

How does compressed air pipe ship?
Fittings, outlets and tubing rolls ship by ground parcel. 7 ft 6 in FastPipe sticks ship as oversize parcels ($25 for the first stick, $4 each additional, $75 maximum per order). 19 ft pipe is too long for parcel carriers and ships by freight truck for a flat $725 per order, no matter how many sticks — so order all of your pipe together.
