Finding the right replacement part
The Custom Micron manual's parts guide gives each part a callout number. For example, the head system is four hand-tuned parts: the needle crown cap (#1A), nozzle cap (#1B), nozzle (#1C) and head nozzle base (#1D). Other numbered parts include the needle packing screw (#4), needle spring adjuster (#8), needle (#9), needle chucking nut (#10), handle (#11), preset with crown cap dock (#12), main lever (#13) and air valve piston and O-ring (#14A and #14B). Find the part number in the manual's parts list for your model and match it to the code on the listing. If you're unsure, call us before you order.

FAQ
What air pressure should I use with a Custom Micron?
The manual suggests 12 to 15 psi for ultra-fine, slow, high-detail spraying, and an adjustable or regulated air source with an air storage tank. Never exceed the airbrush's 98 psi limit.
How do I clear a clog?
Increase the air pressure and spray cleaning solution for a short time, then clean the needle if necessary. On models with the quick flush cutaway handle, grip the exposed needle chucking nut, pull it back while depressing the main lever, and repeat until the airbrush sprays normally. Don't let the needle snap back into place, because that could damage the nozzle.
Which parts are most easily damaged?
The needle and nozzle are very delicate, and even a slight bend in the needle tip changes the spray pattern. The manual says the most likely time to damage the needle is when it passes through the main lever and the needle packing. That is why needles and nozzles are common replacement items.
How should I lubricate the needle packing and air valve O-ring?
Use Iwata Lube only. Apply one drop to the needle packing if the main lever doesn't move smoothly, and don't over-lube. If the main lever is slow to rise, lubricate the air valve O-ring. Don't use light machine oil or WD-40, because they can make the needle stick and can get into the air system.
